TheCFObox collects zero user data. Your financial data lives exclusively on your own server. We never see it, store it, or have access to it.
1. Our Approach to Privacy
TheCFObox LLC ("we," "us," or "our") builds self-hosted financial software. Unlike conventional SaaS products, our software runs entirely on infrastructure owned and controlled by you, the customer. This architecture means your data never passes through our servers, and we have no ability to access, collect, or process your information.
2. Data We Do Not Collect
We do not collect, store, process, or have access to:
- Your financial data, accounting records, or business information
- Your QuickBooks Online data or credentials
- Your employees' personal or payroll information
- Your customers' or vendors' information
- Usage analytics, telemetry, or behavioral data from your software instance
- IP addresses, browser information, or device identifiers from your use of the software
3. How the Software Works
The Software is installed on a server that you own or lease. All data processing occurs on your server. Connections to third-party services (such as QuickBooks Online and Anthropic) are made directly from your server using your own credentials and API keys. We are not an intermediary in these connections.
4. Third-Party Services
The Software integrates with third-party services that have their own privacy policies:
- QuickBooks Online (Intuit) — Your accounting data is accessed directly by your server instance via the QuickBooks API using your authorization. Intuit's privacy policy governs their handling of your data.
- Anthropic (Claude AI) — The AI assistant feature sends queries from your server to Anthropic's API using your API key. Anthropic's privacy policy governs their handling of data sent to their API.
- Hosting Provider — Your server is hosted by a provider of your choice. Their terms of service and privacy policy govern the hosting environment.

5. Website Data
This website (thecfobox.com) is a static informational site. We do not use cookies, tracking pixels, analytics services, or any form of visitor tracking on this website. We do not collect any personal information through this website.
6. Deploy Access
During initial setup and for the purpose of delivering software updates, we may have deploy access (SSH) to your server. This access is used exclusively for installation, configuration, and pushing updates. You may revoke this access at any time. We do not access, view, or copy your data during these operations.
7. Communications
If you contact us via email or other channels, we will retain that communication for the purpose of responding to your inquiry and providing support. We do not share your contact information with third parties for marketing purposes.
8. Children's Privacy
Our Software is designed for business use and is not directed at individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Given our zero-collection architecture, changes are expected to be minimal.
